IAPS Convention Workshop 2026: Mixed Media Pastel with Kelly Milukas (WS13)

Kelly Milukas will be teaching an exciting two-day mixed media pastel workshop during the IAPS Convention 2026. This class is designed for artists who want to expand their pastel practice by combining wet media layers, bold textures, and dry pastel finishing techniques. Through guided prompts and creative exercises, students will explore a fresh and expressive approach to mixed media pastel painting.

This workshop will help participants develop a unique mixed media pastel painting by layering transparent wet media with opaque textural applications. Dry pastel will dominate the middle and final layers, helping artists create depth, movement, and vibrant surface energy.
